Set among the Monterey Pines in Del Monte Forest, our chapel has long been a favorite place for weddings. The contemporary design of the chapel allows seating for up to 250 and features a stunning chancel wall of glass. With that beautiful backdrop, your wedding will seem to be in a sacred grove of ancient trees and hanging moss, with the delightful surprise of a swooping bird or wandering deer. Our church is a place of warmth, welcome and beauty—an ideal place for this momentous occasion.


Couples of all faiths are welcomed for weddings at the church. We welcome and celebrate all love as a manifestation of God’s reality. There are two pastors on staff who are available to perform your wedding with warmth and dignity. If you wish to use your own officiant, please discuss this with the wedding coordinator when you schedule your wedding.


The church is often booked well in advance. You would be wise to reserve your wedding date as soon as you can by contacting the wedding coordinator, Sherry St. Clair, at [email protected] or 831-624-1374. Your Wedding Reservation Form should be returned within two weeks of making your reservation along with the non-refundable deposit. Your tentative reservation will be held for 14 days.


The fee for a wedding at Church in the Forest includes:

  • Use of the chapel (including the Bride’s dressing room) for three hours: one hour for the rehearsal and two hours for the wedding.
  • Services of the minister, the organist, the wedding coordinator and the wedding hostess.
  • Sanctuary flowers and candles
  • Parking and guest entry to Pebble Beach
  • Use of the church gardens for photographs

If you wish to include a Unity Candle in your ceremony, please bring that with you to the rehearsal and, if you wish to use the additional church candelabras, please also bring 18 tapers for that purpose.


To insure your reservation, a non-refundable deposit must accompany your wedding reservation form. Our return confirmation letter will indicate the date the final payment is due. We will refund this remaining payment if your cancellation is received at least two weeks prior to your wedding date.


As you probably are aware, you must have a valid Certificate of Registry of Marriage (license) from any California county. Please bring the license and the forwarding envelope to the rehearsal.


Two hours are allotted for each wedding. The hour before the ceremony is for the bride and her attendants to dress, preparation of the church and seating of the guests. The second hour is for the wedding itself, signing of the documents and photographs. It is very important that you and your guests arrive on time so that you will not be under any pressure. We will be sending you a confirmation letter, and you may access directions through your GPS.


A  spacious Bride’s Room is available for the bride and her attendants to dress. It features ample mirrors, wonderful lighting and a large, private bathroom.


Wedding rehearsals usually take place the day prior to the ceremony. We schedule rehearsals for one hour, usually to take place in the late afternoon or early evening. The exact time will be established when you make your wedding reservation.

If you have chosen to bring your own clergy/officiant, s/he should be present at the rehearsa. Please encourage your wedding party to be prompt so that you, as the bride, will not be put under undue pressure.


In keeping with the spirit of a wedding ceremony, photographs during the wedding ceremony may be taken following these guidelines:

  • From the entrance during the processional
  • From the balcony or office door during the service
  • From the back of the church during the recessional
  • Ask your photographer to confer with the clergy/officiant for guidance and direction
  • Video is under the same guidelines
  • The time for additional pictures is after the ceremony. Again, please have the videographer check with the Wedding hostess and the minister.


Our talented and accommodating church organist/pianist is available to you. She may also assist you in the selection of appropriate music. Our organist can suggest instrumentalists and soloists if you wish.


Church in the Forest will provide sanctuary flowers that remain in the sanctuary after our Sunday service. However, you may bring your own wedding flowers for your ceremony


The wedding coordinator will assist you with your selection of a date and time for your big event. She will make your wedding reservation, arrange the payment of the fees and assist with any other details or questions you might have. She may also suggest various local florists, photographers and reception sites. She is an invaluable and experienced guide through the process of planning your wedding, from your first contact with us, to our last goodbye to you as a newly married couple..


The wedding hostess will be at the wedding rehearsal and the wedding to provide guidance and information. She will work with you to create the highest service that the church can offer and will, with the minister or officiant, walk you through the wedding ceremony step by step to make sure that your day goes off without a hitch.


Please know that because the church is on the Stevenson school campus, use of alcoho or tabacco l is prohibited on the property.

The Church in the Forest is not responsible for any loss or damage to your personal property or that of your guests.

The church office is usually open Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, or by appointment with the wedding coordinator.
